Chapter 2 Quick Start; Read This If You Don’t Read Manuals (Or Even If You Do) MultiTimer Pro at its simplest is simple indeed. The projects (or whatever) you want to track the time on are described as “modules”. When you want to start a new project, you create a new module using “New Module” under the File menu. You then type a name for the module, and you’re ready to start keeping track of your time. MultiTimer Pro’s main window is shown here. The popup menu at (1) allows you to switch between the modules you have created. To start tracking your time, click the stopwatch button at (2). To stop the timer, click the stopwatch button again. The time of your current session is shown at (3). At (4) you can see the accumulated total time for the current day, week, month, year, or the total for the module.   In the box at (5) you can type a short note about the module. By clicking the “Log” button at (6), you will open MultiTimer Pro’s log file for the current module. The log file contains a complete record of all the sessions you have timed. Many of MultiTimer Pro’s more powerful features are accessed through the log window; these will be discussed in later chapters. The “Auto-Open” button/indicator is shown at (7). The Auto Open feature allows you to open any document or application automatically when you start a module’s timer. This is fully described in another chapter. At (8) is the floating window checkbox. If this is checked, MultiTimer Pro will put up a small floating window. This window will “float” over the windows of all other applications, so it will always be visible. The floating window shows you whether the timer is currently on, the name of the current module, and the total time for the module.   That covers the basics of MultiTimer Pro! For a more in-depth understanding of MultiTimer Pro, please read on. Some chapters of note in this manual are: Chapter 3; Upgrading from MultiTimer 2.x: if you previously owned MultiTimer 2.0 or 2.1, you should read this chapter, If not, you can skip it. Chapter 14; Troubleshooting and Frequently Asked Questions: If you’re puzzled about something and are about to fire off an e-mail asking for help, read this chapter first. The answer may be here. Chapter 15; Paying for MultiTimer Pro: If you decide you’re going to keep MultiTimer Pro, you have to pay for it. When you pay the registration fee you will receive a code that turns off the “registration reminder” that appears when you launch the program. You can pay in a variety of different ways; full information is in this chapter.
